HELICOPTER PILOT- City of Fresno, CA (Salary: $4,732 – 5,753/mo., plus excellent benefits.) California’s sixth largest city is currently recruiting to fill a Helicopter Pilot vacancy assigned to the Skywatch/Air Support Unit of the Police Department. The Helicopter Pilot is a non-sworn position assigned to the Air Support Unit in the Police Department. Incumbents operate a helicopter aircraft under Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations parts 61 and 91, and assist in the enforcement of laws, ordinances, and conducting police related missions on aerial patrol in the City of Fresno. Incumbents work variable shifts and hours including nights, weekends and holidays. One vacancy currently exists in the Skywatch/Air Support Unit of the Police Department. REQUIRES: FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Rotorcraft Rating and no limitations or waivers AND minimum flight experience: 500 hours helicopter turbine time, 1,500 hours helicopter PIC time, 250 night hours (unaided) and 100 cross country hours. Preferred Experience: Experience with Fenestron tail rotor system and time in EC120/EC130/ Eurocopter. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession and continued maintenance of a commercial rotorcraft pilot rating as issued by the Federal Aviation Administration at time of appointment. Possession and continued maintenance of a valid Class 2 Medical Certificate as issued by the Federal Aviation Administration at time of appointment with no limitations. Possession and maintenance of a valid California Driver’s License is required at time of appointment. Must successfully complete a polygraph test, a psychological examination, a medical examination, and an extensive background investigation prior to appointment. APPLY BY: 5:00p.m, May 11, 2007. Wondering if you guys are hiring any part time pilots. I am 27, a 137 Pilot out of Merced and Los Banos area flying OH-58A+ and Charlie models. I have about 1600 hours 1500 of which are turbine. I have approx. 5 months off a year where I am not doing anything and would love to find a part time job filling in. I could work nights any time of the year and am completely available from the end of September to the mid January as well as March through June.

No....this is full time only. Speaking with the point of contact, he said they have two positions open. They will also be doing a complete background check of all applicants (Fresno PD policy). Taking applications and considering filling them as qualified applicants come in. Basic work week will be 4 days, 10 hour shifts.

I realize that I don't meet your requirements, but I am a commercial pilot. Very little time, but willing to learn. All my training has been in So. I am a very experienced pilot located in Los Banos, Ca. presently I am a CFII with approximately 3000 hours total time mostly in Robinson R44/R22 with 25 hrs in Turbines.
