Island Conservation, a U.S. based 501(c) 3 wildlife conservation organization, requires the services of a highly experienced and skilled agricultural helicopter pilot for work in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska, in Oct-Nov 2008. Pilot must have exceptional experience in agricultural bucketing, major forestry and/or other agricultural spreading operations.

Minimum Qualifications are:

Hold or able to obtain AMD (formerly OAS) helicopter carding qualification, with endorsements for the specific aircraft type/s, over-water flight, external load and agricultural operations.

Hold at least a current second class medical certificate and meet the currency requirements of 14 CFR 61.57.

Is approved & certified for FAR Part 137.19(e) Agricultural Operations.

Is approved & certified for FAR Part 133 External Loads Operations.

Ideally rated on AS350, H369 &/or Bell206/L helicopters and have a minimum of 250 hours spreader bucket and DGPS experience on one or more of these helicopter types.

Able to sit a one-day course to obtain an Alaska State Pesticide Applicator Certificate.

Minimum 1500 hours experience in helicopter spreader bucket broadcasting of either pest bait, fertilizer or other granulated chemicals.

Minimum of 2000 hours experience using DGPS parallel flight guidance systems. Must be competent in the systems software menus, interpretation of the displayed track data and able to import and export data files.

Minimum of 500 hours external load experience including 250 hours bucket or external load experience in the nominated model/s of helicopters being offered.

Experience long lining off and onto a moored vessel.

Experience flying in remote conditions, with external loads, prone to extreme weather conditions.

Able to live and work in a remote camp in isolated conditions. Prepared to work and be part of a small team for the duration of project (up to 45 days) between late September and mid-November 2008.

Desirable qualifications include: experience flying in the Aleutian Islands and/or mainland Alaska with similar remoteness of area and climatic conditions, experience in aerial pest control using poison bait pellets and/or for wildlife conservation purposes, experience on small remote islands, previous or current relevant Federal AMD certifications.

   Bachelor of Science (Defence Studies) in Management & Technical Sciences    Degree from General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Colombo, Sri    Lanka

06   SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITES UNDERTAKEN IN PROFESSIONAL CAREER.

   Carried out 56 VIP flights for the head of the state as well as foreign    delegations.

a)   Inventing Natural Medicinal Filter –A device aimed at treating several identified illnesses, with the ultimate view to enhancing the health condition and life span of individuals.

b)   The exclusive patent right granted by the state institute: Sri Lanka Government Property Right Authority established under Parliamentary             Act. - (Patent was gazetted on 26th November 2009 under No LK/P/1/14935).

c.   Wind Turbine Diesel Power Generation Plant – Invented with the intention of making optimum and primary use of the wind patterns in the equatorial region, and diesel power as an optional source. The main aim of this power generation plant is to use a low-cost technique. The plant is yet in experimental stage
